This month, we had the wonderful opportunity to attend "WASD." This event showcased a multitude of new and upcoming games from various developers, serving as a source of inspiration and motivation for our own game development! The show not only provided us with an opportunity to experience games firsthand, but also allowed us to engage with fellow developers, exchanging ideas, insights, and industry knowledge. Conversations sparked in the hall turned the expo into a sort of networking event for me; fostering a sense of camaraderie among the game development community. We also had the opportunity to attend several talks about how one can stand out in such a large industry i.e. by using mentorship programmes like Limit Break.

Perhaps most importantly, attending "WASD" allowed us to stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies. We gained insights into the latest gaming mechanics, graphical advancements, and storytelling techniques that are pushing the boundaries of the medium. This knowledge infusion empowered us to think outside the box, explore new possibilities, and push ourselves to innovate even further… we were kind of worried our voice mechanic might have been too out-there, but seeing the varying games assured us that it’s most certainly not.

We also managed to get a few pictures of some rundown buildings that we’ll ultimately model.
